So it turns out yesterday was a bit of a damp squib. Marseille were nowhere to be seen against Liverpool and Schalke played very well against Rosenborg. As i was out of my usual enviroment i somehow missed that Ipswich were playing Leicester at home and missed out on a sure home win.
Anyhow, onto tonights action and once again there is very little that interests me for any serious large bets
Arsenal V Steaua Bucharest
Arsenal have dropped a few points lately and although they dont really need a win here i still think they will go all out for a win, purely for a confidence boost. Despite all the players that they will be missing tonight (Fabregas included) i still think that they have enough strength in dept to beat a Steaua team who cannot progress. Lehmann gets a chance to impress in goal for a change and i cant see him conceding as he doesnt get too many games any more. Steaua are finding goals hard to come by so i also think theres value in an Arsenal clean sheet.
Rangers V Lyon
A must win game for Lyon and it should be a great game. Rangers have really surprised me and have played well in all the games to date. Lyon need a win here to progress but Rangers and their fanatical support will stand in their way. A game thats very hard to call, Lyon are either excellent or terrible and the same can be said of Rangers. However With rivals Celtic already gone through i think Rangers will do everything in their power to progress. I cant bet against any team with Juninho in their starting 11 so i cant back the home side here. I do however think there will be goals and a price of 2.2 for over 2.5 goals really appeals to me.
